Asith Chanushka Atapattu  known as  Asith Sir is a Singer, specialized in major vocal forms or styles associated with Hindustani Classical Music are dhrupad, khyal, and tarana and He also performance Light Classical forms include dhamar, trivat, chaiti, kajari, tappa, tap-khyal, ashtapadis, thumri, dadra, ghazal of Classical Music.

In-addition,  Asith Chanushka Atapattu  is also a Music Composer, Lyricist and a Trainer works  as a Senior Lecture in Hindustani Vocal Music in the Department of North Indian Music, Faculty of Music at University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo 07, Sri Lanka.

Asith Chanushka Atapattu  Initially  studied Hindustani Vocal Music under the guidance of Dr. Premadasa Mudunkotuwa and  won many Island wide competitions in the years of 1996,1997,1998,1999 obtained first places in Inter school all Island singing competitions and above all He also won National Youth Awards for Hindustani Classical Singing in the years of 2001, 2003. 

Furthermore his own creation of “Sasare Patha”   Lyrics, Melody & Singing by  Sangeeth Nipun “Asith Chanushka Atapattu was awarded at  State Music Awards Ceremony in the year 2016.

Lyrics, Melody & Singing by Sangeeth Nipun “Asith Chanushka Atapattu” was awarded for his own creation at State Music Awards Ceremony in the year 2016.

Asith Chanushka Atapattu  proceed  to  India for his higher studies  obtaining a Scholarship from Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre Colombo-Sri Lanka and  successfully completed his  Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree with a 1st class Distinction in 2007 from  Bhatkhande Music University, Lacknow then he obtained his Master of Music Degree in Hindustani Vocal Music at  BHU with a Gold Medal in the year 2009  and he is Reading for his PhD from Visva - Bharati University, India.

Asith Chanushka Atapattu is extremely devoted to Indian Classical Music Trainer in Sri Lanka. Whoever wishes to study Indian Classical Music professionally are mostly welcoming to his Academy and it's house for all children.
